Global Institute of Technology conducted a two days national conference on ECLECTIC MECHANICAL ENGINEERING (EME) on 29th and 30th March – 2012. The aim of the conference was to provide a platform for bringing together latest research from eclectic fields of the mechanical engineering stream as well as from other scientific and technical fields. Technical papers on 31 diverse themes were invited from all the major educational institutes of India. On the whole, 120 papers and abstracts were received and 44 papers were presented in the conference.
The EME – 2012 conference was conducted in four technical sessions spanning over two days. On the first day of the conference i.e. 29th March – 2012, the programme started with the inauguration session. The dignitaries who attended the inauguration included Dr. B.V. Babu, vice chancellor of J.K. Laxmipath University; Shri P.C. Sanghi, chairman - IE(I) RSC; and Shri Arvind Khatri, President – ISHRAE. The conference proceedings were released after the presidential address which was delivered by Shri Anand Singhal, Chairman – GITS.
The first session of the conference was chaired by Prof. S.C. Pathak, MNIT, Jaipur; and the keynote speaker was Dr. B.K. Sharma, Asian Institute of Technology, Jaipur. Oral presentations in this session were based on the general theme of “Industrial Engineering and Advanced Manufacturing”. The second session was chaired by Prof. P. Dashora from Rajasthan University, Jaipur. The Keynote speakers for the session were Dr. Dilip Sharma from MNIT, Jaipur; and Shri S.S. Gangwar, Ex-president, ISHRAE. The theme of this session was “Thermal and Energy Systems”.
The third session of the conference commenced on the morning of 30th March – 2012, and was chaired by Dr. Anupam Srivastava Vice-chancellor Moradabad University. The keynote address for this session was delivered by Shri Manoj Pathak, Dy. G.M. (AUTOLITE INDIA LTD.). The theme for this session was “Artificial Intelligence”. The fourth session of the conference was planned to cover a wider canopy from varied fields of engineering; and hence the theme of this session was “Latest Advancements”. The keynote speaker as well as the session chair for this session was Dr. M.S. Rathore, Retd. D.G.M, HMT-Ajmer. The conference was concluded with a valedictory session which was graced by the presence of Prof. M.K. Bhargava, Vice Chancellor of Jagannath University, Jaipur; and Shri Shailesh Verma, ISHRAE. Certificates of participation were distributed to all candidates who presented their papers in the conference.
The success of the conference can be gauged by the fact that participants from all over the country attended the conference. Technical papers from diverse fields related with Mechanical engineering were presented.
