The Institute provides a transformational experience to its students who are expected to maintain the highest standards of personal integrity, professional commitment and ethics. To inculcate these values, GIT has partnered with leading institutions like the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE) and the Broadcast Engineering Society (BES) to establish respective Students' Forums at GIT.
GIT is expanding its horizons to embrace a greater social role as well as being more tuned-in to the demands of the industry. GIT is setting-up the Centre for Integrated Learning with a goal of empowering people for knowledge society. The new centre shall provide short term courses that are topical and relevant to industry's changing needs for practicing professionals and teachers.
Another initiative is the Global Institute of Livelihood Skills Training and Research. The Institute would be delivering in-house and field training in non-farming and services sectors to youth to enhance their employability. It will also undertake research in livelihoods generation and develop models and programmes for implementation. A mobile van fitted with necessary aids and tools shall be deployed by the Centre to enhance reach and enable execution of the Centre's programmes beyond the campus.
